Clothing items every girl should have in her closet

There are some things that every lady should have in her closet. As a teen, you may not afford designer clothes and other items, but to still look nice for your age, a few things will help. Many things come into use at any time that must be in your wardrobe, like reusable towels, wipes, and many other useable items, including wearable.

We all need clothes. We all want to look good in our clothes. Here are seven essentials every girl should have in her closet:

1) Sweaters/Cardigan

When the weather gets cold, there’s no reason to be cold too! Sweaters are versatile for many occasions. They can go casual with a t-shirt underneath and some jeans, dressy with a skirt, look good under cardigans. A basic gray or black sweater is preferred to ward off any chill in the air while looking chic at the same time.

2) Jeans/Leggings/Tights

For the pants; Jeans with any shirt- casual or semi-dressy could be a nice idea. Another option for a comfy look; leggings with tunics are so good. As well; Tights under dresses or skirts for added warmth and modesty on colder days. These basics are perfect for jeans or leggings; preferably dark-wash is preferable.

3) A Knee-Length Skirt

A knee-length skirt with any shirt can look great on anyone. Teens should have at least one long skirt in their wardrobe for school or other formal occasions. And, while it may be cold outside, who said you couldn’t wear tights under your skirt? Layers are key to staying warm! Don’t forget to add a cardigan.

4) Shirts with “Wow FACTOR.”

There are some shirts that tees can pull off easily- others not so much. You know the ones I’m talking about: the sparkly sequin tops, bell sleeves on dresses, deep V-necks. They are the kind of shirts that make you feel great when you wear them and give you confidence when you wear anything else with them- jeans or otherwise.

5) A Little Black Dress

Every girl needs at least one dress that’s deemed “little” by society (not too short, not too revealing) and black (brown is okay if that’s your color). The little black dress can be worn anywhere- to school dances, the movies, restaurants, family gatherings, etc.

6) Scarves & Beanies

Scarves go well with many outfits- so do beanies during wintertime. Headwear is a precious accessory to keep warm- and to look good too! Scarves and beanies can be worn casually or dressy, and they’re great for covering your head during bad hair days.

7) Dresses & Skirts

Dresses and skirts are something that every teen should have in their closet. They come in all shapes, sizes, colors- different patterns too! You could even make your own if you wanted to. With a bit of creativity, these two articles of clothing can go from casual to semi-formal with ease! When wearing dresses and skirts outside the house; don’t forget leggings under them for added warmth and modesty.

*Tips*

If you want a certain shoe color other than black or brown, go ahead and buy your desired shoes- make sure they’re not the only pair you have. It would be a shame to have one single color. Make sure at least two colors are represented in your shoe collection if possible!

The same applies to other clothing items as well- if you want a specific color other than black or white, go ahead and buy it! But remember- having multiples is always better than having just one. If you can’t afford more than one item of a particular type of clothing, though, don’t fret too much because there are still other things that could be made for any special occasion that doesn’t involve money.

Wrapping Up!

Having the seven essentials every teen girl should have in her closet will give you an easy way to dress up or down for any occasion. A little black dress and a knee-length skirt can go with almost any shirt, and your shirt’s “wow factor” finish adds some more! Matching shoes and cardigans or sweaters make you look put together in seconds. Scarves and beanies help ward off the chill, while dresses/skirts keep you nice and warm during colder days outside. So go ahead- consider these tips when shopping next time! Your wardrobe will thank you later.
